Rotary District 9650 Convention | Youth Insearch

It is well known that the support that Rotary gives Youth Insearch is muchly appreciated by all the young lives that are changed by the program and the volunteers who get to watch these young people grow from troubled to inspiring. During early March, Rotary District 9650 held their annual convention and invited some representatives from Youth Insearch to attend and present speeches to the many people who attended.

This was a fantastic opportunity for the people of the organisation to thank the Rotary clubs for their generous support by donating time and money to aide us in achieving our goals. Also for young people like Brice Davy and Luke Mitchell to share their story of how they have gone through the program as participants and through determination and hard work have come out on top as Leaders. For the last 15 years, Rotary has donated over $1million, this does not include the uncountable volunteer hours spent organizing fundraisers and individuals donations. Stephen Lewin, our General Manager delivered a speech to the Rotarians to personally say thank you for the support over the years. As well as Stephen, Mal Macpherson, who has been a huge supporter and advocator for Youth Insearch, delivered a speech as well and we want to say thank you to Mal for his constant determination and hard work in helping the youth in the Tamworth and Armidale area.

In addition to the speeches, participants and leaders manned a stall to share the love and information of the program at the convention over two days, handing out brochures and our new Youth Insearch wristbands and Annual Reports. On the Saturday night, leaders, support adults and participants attended the gala dinner and spent some time getting to know the Rotarians and the other groups that benefit from the support of Rotary District 9650.

The whole convention was a valuable experience for all involved as it inspired them to hear everyone's story and meet the people responsible for enabling us to do the important work we do. Again, a big thank you to the Rotary District 9650 for your amazing and continuous support for the young people across New England.
