End Youth Suicide Week

13-17 FEBRUARY 2023

Stand with us to End Youth Suicide.

Support young people to move from #traumatotriumph.

This year, Monday 13 - Friday 17 February marks End Youth Suicide Week, a campaign which encourages our community and young people to defy the stigma associated with mental health and to openly talk about suicide with their friends, families and communities.

I am writing to ask you to join us in supporting this campaign as follows:

  1. Join us at a peaceful vigil to reflect on the 402 young people who died by suicide in 2021.  Monday 13 February | 7.30am – 8.30am Manly Beach (near North Steyne Surf Life Saving Club)
  2. Wear the Youth Insearch pin proudly all week (13-17 February)
  3. Post a photo or video on your social media channels wearing the pin using these hashtags- #youthinsearch #endyouthsuicide #traumatotriumph #forgottenmiddle

youth insearch program

The Youth Insearch Program has proven success for 37 years. In 2019, 91% of participants who felt suicidal prior to the program no longer felt this way after attending the program. 89% of participants who'd attempted previously, had not attempted suicide after Youth Insearch.

This year, the national End Youth Suicide initiative encourages all of us, particularly young people, to defy stigma by openly talking about suicide with friends, families, and communities. Help us to normalise the conversation.
