ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
The Youth Insearch Weekend Workshops are a two-night peer-facilitated in a safe and supportive environment for young people aged 14-20 years to unpack their trauma and life-limiting challenges, using an open dialogue and trauma-based approach.
The Workshops are peer-driven and delivered by Youth Insearch Leaders (with support from Social Workers, Peer Workers, Regional Managers, and volunteer Support Adults) who are young people who have undertaken and been accredited in Youth Insearch Leadership Training. They are then able to use their lived experience to discuss key themes/challenges that young people experience across a range of sessions including but not limited to:
- Trust and Self-esteem
- Grief and loss
- Drugs and alcohol
- Communication
- Sexual assaut
- Parent and adolescent relationships
-
New participants are required to complete a Pre-Program Referral Form. This form needs to be completed by the referring service provider, support adult or parent/guardian. After this form is submitted a representative from Youth Insearch will contact the referrer to organise a briefing and link the young person into a support group.
Following the briefing you will receive your own unique registration link. This registration link is then used to register for any future weekend workshops you wish to attend.
To attend a weekend workshop you need to complete and submit a registration form by the registration date, two weeks prior to the weekend workshop.

Transport to and from the weekend workshops is the responsibility of the referring service provider, support adult or young person. In some areas Youth Insearch may arrange a bus picking up from a central location.
