Independent Reviews
“positive changes to their mental health from pre to post evaluation” ... “in particular general levels of anxiety, stress, depression and sense of hopelessness about the future significantly decreased and self-esteem significantly increased” ... “this can be attributed solely to the adolescent’s participation in the program”
(Charles Sturt University 2000 p.6)
The program is supported by four independent external reviews. One by Charles Sturt University (2000). Two were commissioned by the NSW State and Federal Governments and conducted by professional research firm Urbis (2003 & 2008). One by the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) (2009). The AIFS produced a Promising Practice Profile which provides a good summary of the outcomes of the Urbis reviews. It also details the program methodology and evidence base.
