Workshop Registration

Our weekend workshops are a 48-hour retreat commencing at 6pm on a Friday and concluding at 3pm on a Sunday. A typical workshop would consist of up to 50 young people, 8 support adults, and 17 youth and adult Leaders (including trainees).

Weekend workshops are made up of a number of young people. These include group counselling sessions, fun events and "hassle sessions" wherein young people share and work through difficulties they have experienced with family, abuse, grief and drugs and alcohol with their peers.

The workshops are facilitated by extensively trained Youth and Adult Leaders. Youth Leaders facilitate group work on general life skills. Adult Leaders facilitate the group 'hassles sessions". Each workshop is overseen by a clinical psychologist.

Registration Process

  1. Contact Us or call the office on 02 8855 9700
  2. Referral form will be sent, and needs to be completed by the referring service provider, support adult or parent/guardian
  3. Briefing is arranged which will also include linking the young person into a local support group
  4. Registration form sent by email, and the registration link can be used to register for any future weekend workshop
    • To attend a weekend workshop the registration form must be submitted by the registration date, two weeks prior to the weekend workshop.
    • Each registration link is specific to one individual, and should not be used to register more than one participant or volunteer.
  5. Registration process finalised by a Youth Insearch Coordinator.
    • Note: submission of a registration form and payment does not guarantee registration and attendance at a workshop. If we are unable to offer a place at the program, we will refund the registration fee. Late forms or payments cannot be accepted.

There is no cost of attendance for participants or their caregivers.

The actual costs of the program are covered by the fundraising efforts of the Foundation. We have worked hard to make this happen to ensure that no young person is denied access because they do not have the means to pay.

Transport to and from the weekend workshops is the responsibility of the referring service provider, support adult or young person. In some areas Youth Insearch may arrange a bus from a central location.
