Leaders Training

Well that’s a wrap on Stage 1 – Virtual Leaders Training. So proud to have brought together the 11 Trainees and 6 Training Team together from all over the eastern seaboard. They were still smiles and grateful hearts in the end after just over 24 hours of Virtual Training across three days.

We had future leaders attend from Bundaberg in the north through to Yarrabilba, Kingaroy, Gympie and Avenell Heights in QLD; to Orange, Gunnedah, Mudgee, Inverell, Charlestown and Box Hill in NSW; and heading south through VIC to Bairnsdale, Sale, Ivanhoe and Beronia. They soon melted down those border restrictions and were eager to learn.

With some of our very own Youth Insearch talent on display with the Training Team imparting their wisdom. Our CEO Steve came along to share his story together with our organisational structure and vision. This inspired the Trainee Leaders to see how supported our volunteers are and how they too could aim to be CEO one day.

Alan Kuczynski, who we are so blessed to have, has shared so much with us over the years, and who wowed Trainees and Team with the different styles of communication and how we can take notice of our own stories and beliefs, which we hold onto as truths. Kathy Morrison showed them how to deal with difficult situations and conflict resolution.

Our new partnership with Talent RISE shares our vision to change the lives of young people, and Saskia and Catarina came along to share their professionalism and tips on writing, including what to include in resumes, how to recognise transferrable skills, and how to deliver your elevator pitch to sell yourself.

"It was great to see the impact that your program is making on young people and we were really impressed from the second we logged on and they spoke.

This feels like the start of a fantastic new partnership and we look forward to many more collaborations with you.”

Saskia, Talent RISE

We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people supporting our Trainees on their path through leadership. We are so proud of their efforts and overcoming yet again the obstacles that come with doing this virtually: overheating computers, camera, data and internet issues, overcoming some health issues – but it all was good in the end after some well needed stretches. Between calls from university regarding courses, dealing with last minute babysitter issues and still juggling the little ones while remaining engaged, they certainly showed tremendous resilience.

Thank you to everyone involved - we could write a book on what these Trainees have overcome in the background to attend virtually - being in their own environments and still nailing it. Their communication was top notch and we managed to resolve all of the glitches and challenges thrown at them and us. A few technical issues were resolved by some of the Trainees helping each other - some internet and charging issues - but all in all it didn’t dampen their enthusiasm, or stop them.

Stage 2 will be held in December, hopefully face-to-face in Sydney pending restrictions lifting.

Thanks again to all of our supporters of our young people.
