Youth Insearch Launches Place Based Model in Bundaberg
Youth Insearch announces social worker partnership with headspace Bundaberg
At-risk youth in Bundaberg stand to benefit from a new partnership between Youth intervention charity Youth Insearch and headspace Bundaberg.
The partnership includes a new social worker role, being filled by social worker, Adam Klimkiewicz, to support young people in the Bundaberg region.
Mr Klimkiewicz said his focus would be on supporting and working with local young people experiencing adversity in their lives.
“My experience in providing therapeutic interventions for both young people and families has given me a strong understanding of the issues faced by young people,” Mr Klimkiewicz said.
Youth Insearch CEO Stephen Lewin said the placement of a new social worker within the community would help young people who were struggling and ensure they received tailored care.
“We want to point the young people of Bundaberg in the right direction, helping them identify what support services are available and how the Youth Insearch program can assist them during these difficult times,” Mr Lewin said.
Youth Insearch has found that when social workers assist young people in a single community, they are able to provide tailored support to each young person on a one-on-one basis and connect them with appropriate support services.
Youth Insearch Regional Coordinator Heather Cummings said she was thrilled to welcome Adam Klimkiewicz to the Youth Insearch team.
“It is great to have Adam on board at headspace Bundaberg in response to the strong need for a social worker in the Bundaberg community. Due to the recent increase in requests for support from young people, Adam’s assistance will help us work more closely with case coordination,” Mrs Cummings said.
The Youth Insearch community-based partnership at headspace Bundaberg was launched on Thu 10 Sep 2020 at headspace Bundaberg.
Supporters of the Social Worker partnerships include the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation and the Tenix Foundation, who are contributing significant funds to support Youth Insearch and its Social Workers over the next three years.
