The Regional Reset program is a new early intervention initiative funded by the Queensland Government under its Making Queensland Safer plan. Youth Insearch is proud to deliver the program in Moreton Bay and Rockhampton, working with young people aged 8–17 years and their families who are showing early signs of high-risk or anti-social behaviours.
Regional Reset provides a staged, short‑stay, live‑in experience where young people can step away from harmful environments and reset relationships, behaviours, and attitudes. Each reset is combined with in‑community peer support and mentoring so gains made during the stay can be embedded at home and school.

-
During the program, young people engage in:
- Building self‑control and resilience to strengthen positive behaviours
- Education and training opportunities to re‑engage with learning
- Life and employment skills development
- Pro‑social activities such as sport, adventure, and cultural programs
- Therapeutic supports, including counselling, drug and alcohol services, and family therapy
-
Youth Insearch works with each young person and their family before, during, and after the live-in program.
Before the live-in program
For up to six weeks, social workers and peer mentors work closely with each young person to complete an initial assessment. This process identifies individual needs and risk factors, while also setting meaningful goals in collaboration with families and education providers.
During the live-in program
Approximately five weeks of intensive mentoring and supervision, delivered with three short residential stays. These stays are reinforced with peer support and partner services to strengthen family communication, relationships, and overall support.
After the live-in program
Up to six weeks of in-home and community-based support designed to strengthen self-control and mental wellbeing, reduce high-risk behaviours, boost engagement in education or employment, and build stronger family relationships.

At its heart, Regional Reset creates a safe space for young people to pause, reflect, and reset their path. By supporting both the young person and their family, the program helps repair relationships, rebuild trust, and strengthen connections to school, community, and culture while reducing risk factors linked to youth offending and disengagement.
