Katarzyna's Story
Katarzyna was just 15 when she attended her first Youth Insearch Weekend Workshop.
Growing up in Logan in Queensland’s southeast, she travelled to Bundaberg to attend her first workshop. “When the death of my father sent me to Queensland to live with my mum, I found myself drawn into the caring arms of Youth Insearch.”
Despite her early years being marked by adversity, Youth Insearch became a turning point. “This amazing organisation has opened so many doors for me. It has allowed me to connect with others in a non-judgemental environment, share my experiences in a safe space, and discover ways to manage my mental health while gaining the skills necessary to live life without fear and restrictions.”
Since that first workshop, Katarzyna has immersed herself in the program, attending 26 workshops both in person and through online support groups.
In October 2025, she proudly graduated from Youth Insearch Leadership Training at Admiralty House in Sydney. The intensive 12–18 month course includes three stages of workshops, followed by a year of practical training and assessment. The ceremony was graciously hosted by Her Excellency the Governor-General, Sam Mostyn AC.
Reflecting on her journey, Katarzyna shares,
“Youth Insearch has given me the courage to take a leap of faith, step into a leadership role, and continue my journey towards a healthier, happier life. Without the love and support of this organisation, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Youth Insearch has helped me more than I could ever have helped myself.”
